Do i have a chance of moving to the O.C??

im a 19year old female from england and its always been my dream to live in california or florida!

ive heard the O.C is very expensive to live but i have my heart set on it and want to do it whilest im young!

im an advanced beauty therapist and im currently studying more courses such as holistic courses and business and physcology whilest i gain more salon work experience! ( ive already had 3 years salon experience! )

i was thinking of continuing my studies in england for a few years and then maybe getting a job in the O.C and move with my partner! and then maybe opening a business out there!

one thing i know is, in england beauty therapists arent very highly paid, and im asuming its the same in america and i understand it wont just happen like THAT!

but i just want to know... is it an unrealistic goal or do i have a chance???

thanks 4 all advice given

California is not what it is cracked up to be. If you love pollution, smog, A LOT of traffic, fake people, overpriced homes, lots of gangs and illegal immigrants then all of California is the place for you!
Reply:Oh, you'd be surprised what people in California will pay for salon services. It's all about the Marketing. You supply some boutique, high end products, give your clients a latte while they wait and throw in some good looking employees and you can name your price for services. If your image is high-end, then people will pay high-end prices.
Reply:It's just a tv show and not exactly like it's depicted. But yes, it's expensive. Perhaps try living some place close to it that is cheaper.
Reply:I live in Orange County and it can be expensive, depending on where you want to live. Home prices are leveling off and going down right now, but they still are not cheap. Target the areas you are interested in and get in touch with a knowledgeable, reputable real estate agent to get an idea of prices for homes and rent for apartments and/or homes.

I'm not sure what a beauty therapist it, to be honest. Does that mean you cut and style hair? If so, it's all about building clientele out here. Target some high-end salons in upscale areas like Newport Beach, Huntington Beach and Ladera Ranch/Coto de Caza and see what you need to do to get hired. And, as shallow as it sounds, your accent will take you far around here!!
