Which course to choose B.Tech I.T or E.C?
go for electronics and communication which will broaden up your horizons and if you wanna soaked in to IT you can start learning software along with normal study.
Reply:what is the use of learning of the technology... go and leran some... work first .. which.. give food and shelter...
Reply:E.C is best at present. If you want you can do software

Reply:IT is best where u got lot of scope .. also u can settel ur life very soon , now there is no value for ec please dont choose that .. all the best
Reply:I.T. of course

C-section vs natural labor?

i was just noticing that many mothers are choosing c-sections over natural labor. why? it seems like to me a c-section would be much more painful and a longer recovery time. i had my first child natural and now am pregnant with my second and i plan to do the same(with pain medication of course!)i was hoping someone could tell me some benifeits of a c-section over natural.

C-section vs natural labor?
Mothers do not choose C sections. They are major surgery and only done when deemed necessary by the doctor.
Reply:There are no benefits unless your child is in danger, you are in danger or the child is breech or not in a heads down position.

If you go through labor and end up having a Csection because of complications...then thats the breaks, you have to do what you have to do to have a healthy child and mommy in the end of it.

To skip a vaginal birth and jump to c section because they dont want to experience labor, dont want to "ruin" sexual health, or whatever reason is not a good reason...shame on any doctor who agrees to it.

I had to have a csection after 32 hours of labor because of heart accelerations and my son was transverse. I had a very rough recovery from it and my son was unable to breastfeed easily because of it.

I will have a repeat csection because of placental issues, but not by choice.
Reply:C sections should only be reserved for an emergency situation or a case when the mother/baby is deemed at risk. It should never be done for the reason of convenience, it is still a surgery and has the risks of a surgery. The recovery is much tougher, especially when you have other children to care for. Hope this helps
Reply:well I know that the people I know me included are having c-sections per dr orders, I have had complications with my past 2. I would love to try natural but can't. I don't see why someone would choose a c-section unless they are scared of the natural process.
Reply:C-sections are done because junk science lawyers put good doctors in jail for not unnecessarily prescribing them. Doctors tell women it's the better choice because that's the only way they can afford malpractice insurance. We have a ****** up legal system that makes doctors choose unsafe treatments because of junk science cases.
Reply:They want to plan when the baby will be born. My doctor would not allow such foolishness as unnecessary surgery.

Some women have valid medical reasons for needing a planned C-section, but many don't. It's weird. I was induced with both of my kids because of high blood pressure. My first daughter weighed 10 freakin' pounds AND my epidural didn't work and she still came out the regular way so I have no sympathy. My second was 9 1/2lbs, I didn't even ask for an epidural, she came out the regular way and I survived.

There are few reasons to mess with nature.
Reply:I saw a report the other day of an increase in deaths during child birth. It said that a lot of mothers were choosing c-sections over natural and a lot of them bled to death or the got blood clots. and there would be a longer recovery time. My mother had a c-section and she says that it really really sucked, she couldnt hold me like she wanted to, it was to breast feed, and when it came back in time for her to lose the baby weight, she said that those stomach muscles were really hard to strengthen again and they were lopsided because of the c-section. c-sections should only be used for emergency reasons. Just for safety reasons.
Reply:Well I had to have a C-Section with my first and the recovery for me was horrible. My friend that was by the side the whole time said it scared her just to watch me try to get up and walk around and that after her vaginal birth she was up and walking and pain free within hours.

I have heard of people who chose to have a c-section on their own. But it is up to the doctor.

I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my second and my doc won't let me have a v-bac even though he said it is very unlikely that I will have the same problems that I did with my first. So I guess it depends on the doctor and their policies.
Reply:C-setion has no benifits besides if an emergency comes up it saves baby life and motheres. Some women opt to actually choose c-section, its really up to you ,its your body, your the one living in it.
Reply:C/sections are to be done, really, only in the case of an emergency. I had two emergency c/sections, and in the first case, both my son and I were in distress. I had planned a vbac with my daughter; however, she became distressed, and had to be taken via c/section as well.

I have seen many people here who want a c/section over a vaginal birth, and I wonder about that, too. It's not elective surgery... yet too many ob/gyns allow them, even though it's not medically necessary.

Both of my c/sections were very painful, with the second one being moreso painful than the first. What I think is funny that many women say that the second one is "easier". I wonder what makes them say that.

C/sections are major surgery, they are taken too lightly by some. Recovery is much longer, much more painful. A vaginal birth, by all means, is the better way to go, unless there is a problem and the baby needs to be delivered via c/section.

Outside A/C Condensing Unit?

I have a 3 yearl old A/C coil on the inside of a duplex unit. The condensing unit outside has to be replaced. The coil is a 10 Seer. Of course you now have to have a 13 Seer. One A/C company said I have to replace both, the condensing unit as well as the coil because if I don't replace the coil to match, the liquid will run into the compressor %26amp; it will go out in about 5 years. A different A/C company said that I do not have to replace the coil %26amp; that it will only pull a 11 or 12 Seer. He said that is all that means. Who is right???

I'm not going to pretend to know the answer to this question, but I would make the suggestion that you repost the question in the home and garden category under maintenance and repairs, bet you have better luck with answers!

C. Difficile infection?

Has anyone out there had an experience with the elderly and c. difficile infection? My mom was recently on a pretty intense course of iv antibiotics and I'd like to know what to watch out for. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

C. Difficile infection?
It's nasty stuff. It can quickly spread through a nursing home if proper sterile technique isn't followed. Watch for fever and pain when the infection site is touched. Be very careful to wash hands well before and after touching. This is often called "C diff" in nursing circles. It can get started due to lack of repositioning in bed or sitting without moving, as I recall. These are called "bedsores."

Reply:there is also a funky smell to it and it is mostly orange colored bowel movement.
Reply:After taking antibiotics there is a capsule you can buy that restores natural bacteria, called Acidophilus. Its called a "Probiotic" and sold over the counter, no script needed

It works really well and is recommended by doctors and pharmacists here.

Ask your pharmacist about it.
Reply:http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/c-diffi...

I personally don't know. I found this link that seems to have some good information.
Reply:Suggest WebMd.com
Reply:C Diff is in stool. It occurs because the antibiotic kills the normal flora in the bowels and lets c diff take over. The stool is usually diarrhea and very foul smelling. I always recommend that people on antibiotics eat yogurt during the course because it replaces the normal flora. It can be fatal in the elderly because of dehydration. Fluids are very important and if the stool is extremely loose go on a clear liquid diet no caffeine cause that can make it worse. Good luck

Is it ok to put a camma after Washington in Washington D.C.?

our teacher and I were arguing in college that it was wrong because putting a camma between Washinton D.C. like this Washington, D.C. would say that D.C. would be in the State of Washington and of course everyone knows its now since the cama signify's state and city.

Is it ok to put a camma after Washington in Washington D.C.?
You're right, it needs a comma. The correct punctuation is

Washington, D.C.
Reply:Not to be nasty,Anthony but isnt the word for (.) comma. maybe work on your spelling first before worring on the little things.
Reply:I have no idea what a camma is
Reply:it would be like saying it's washington city in the state of D.C....if you were looking at it that way. the reason people put a comma in between city and state in an address isn't because it's a city and a state, per say. it's simply to create a pause, a separation so you know the city name ends here , and the state name begins. you probably COULD put a comma there. it would be like saying Washington in the District of Columbia. i don't think you need one, though. there's only one washington D.C.

If your solicitor has cost you c.£20k by negligence, what is the best course of action?
there are solicitors who make a practice of sueing other solicitors.

I could get a name for you, but unless you're in Devon, you'll probably find one nearer.

Is it possible to download Borland C++ Builder for free? Or do you have to always pay the $2,000?

I am taking an engineering course at my university and it focuses on Borland C++ builder 6.0. I was just wondering if there was a free version out there, that came with a lengthy license. Is there?

Is it possible to download Borland C++ Builder for free? Or do you have to always pay the $2,000?
Since it's used in your class, check with your professor to see if the university offers it to students at a discount. Many schools have agreements with software companies (usually Microsoft and Adobe) to provide students with software for a much lower rate.

Which language should i choose [VB.NET or C# .NET]?

I would like to complete Microsoft Certified Solution Developer. I have working experience in VB 6.0 and totally new for C#. Institute(s) are insisting for C#. I am in confusion which language [VB.NET or C# .NET] should i choose for completing the above certification course.

Can anybody guide me? Pls i am in hurry. Your valuable suggestion will help me in selecting right career path.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Which language should i choose [VB.NET or C# .NET]?
C#!

If you need really performant code, C# can provide it using unsafe {} blocks. Well written unsafe code can execute as fast, or faster than C++.

C#'s IDE seems slightly better. If I type a function name that doesn't exist, I have the option of the IDE creating it for me (love that feature!). Intellisense seems to work a little better too.

C# is also more portable than VB.Net. VB.Net relies on a specific Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll that is not very portable. Microsoft has hinted that if and when it writes a framework for Mac and Unix that VB might not be supported.

Lastly: I keep hearing that C# programmers get paid more. In the end, all your code in C# or VB.Net compiles to Common Intermediate Language. This means it's all ultimately the same, and it's all using the same framework API. There are a few differences as to how this language does this or that, or what it allows, but most are minor.
Reply:c#
Reply:vb.net will be easier to pick up considering you have learnt vb 6 although c# would have a harder learning curve but if your in a hurry and you already know vb 6 I think it would be easier considering your in a hurry just to do vb.net for now and do c# later.

Why are you doing this course for and what you want to do with the language afterwards will determine which language will be better, I could be wrong.
Reply:C# has many advantages of C and Java and is good for your career.
Reply:VB.NET seems to be much more popular although C# is more versatile. I see requests for VB.NET much more frequently in job ads so I would go with that. Java gives too much competition to C# and I would choose Java or C# any day. Best of luck!

Shold I do C language In computer before C++ or C++ before C?

I am interested in doing a short term computer course before joining the engeneering college. Should I go for C language or C++? Both are new to me

Shold I do C language In computer before C++ or C++ before C?
Hi,

Every one should learn "C" before C++. Becoz "C" is basic foundation for all the other programming laguages.

C++ is based on C only.

My advice is " Learn C perfect". It will also helps in u r B.Tech.

Now a days every Software Company asking knowledge in "C" only.

I hope u will get good knowledge on C and other languages.

All The Best

Reply:hi mbj, i think its better to ask some other people 2 before final decision. ny way i agree dat c is d mother of all comp. lang. but ulll first have to check out dat in how much time u can learn c, if time is less den u shld( rather v shld) go on 4 C++. beta councelling ke liye bhi jana hoga!
Reply:There is no need for C , you can directly do C++.
Reply:I think you should go for C++ as it is more advanced and useful than C.Once you understand C++,it won't be tough for you to understand C
Reply:both of them r good....if u learn C programming first C++ is very easy to understand
Reply:Before u learn C++, u should know the C lang.

If u know C lang, then learning any comp lang will becomes very easy.

B`cos C is the mother language of computers.

Based on C many other lang r developed.

So u start learning from C lang %26amp; then go 4 other lang.
Reply:basically the algorithm or the way in which you write a code, say looping statements etc,are the same for both C and C++.Only the syntax differs and also some advances in C++...I recommend u go for C and then for C++
Reply:If both the languages are new to you, I'd suggest you to go for C++. C++ is built on top of C, and supports more features than C. If time is a constraint and you want to be able to get up and running as fast as possible, opt for C.
Reply:You should do C before C++ because C++ is based on C.
Reply:Learning C is must for C++.

VBAC ban yet don't want another c-section, what are my options?

I am not pregnant, yet. But we plan on havng another baby in the near future. I just found a OB-GYN that Im in love with, she is wonderful. However no doctors in my area will preform a VBAC due to insurance prices being through the roof. My doctor actually had somone perferate (?) and have their scar burst open during a VBAC. I HATED my first delivery. It was induced and I labored for over 38 hours only to have an emergency C-section, it was horrible. I hated it completely and never want to experience anything remotely like it. I always dreamed of a natural birth, a water birth, and NORMAL vaginal birth. My first son was 8 12 and second babies tend to weigh more, so Im afraid this is another reason they will make me have a C-section. I REALLY want to be able to plan for a natural vaginal delivery for my next child, is there any way I can do this. Is there anything I can do to insure an VBAC for my next one? Unless of course a medical emergency where I need another emergency C-section.

VBAC ban yet don't want another c-section, what are my options?
Your story sounds just like mine...Induction at 41 weeks, 21 hour labor, including 2 hours of pushing, cesarean for an 8 lb 14 oz boy!!! I hated it too. The only 2 good things that came from it were 1 my son, and 2 what knowledge I have gained about all aspects of childbirth especially VBAC.

I am going to cut to the chase, and you will probably think I am nuts, as I did when I was first given this advice. Seek a midwife and a homebirth!!!

For the last year I have been planning on TTC sometime this summer/fall, waiting until I had a team of people willing to support me in my VBAC journey we are but a few months away from TTC now. I have a CPM, LM Midwife, who is doing nutritional pre-conception counseling with me. (I was a tad overweight during my first pregnancy and borderline diabetic also during that pregnancy) We feel that by getting my nutrition/blood sugar under control that we can have some control over the weight of a future baby...so that it is not necessarily bigger, than my first. I am going to plan on having a homebirth, in order to avoid, any %26amp; all intervention. You will see if you do your homework on VBAC/HBAC and interventions that interventions actually put you at higher risk and that there are many safer ways to treat some complications should they arrise.

I also have had a friend have a uterine rupture/ perforation while trying to VBAC, her placenta was attached to her previous incision site, so when she ruptured the placenta detached before the baby was born leaving the baby without blood or oxygen for sevral minutes. The baby has very, very mild cerebral palsy now, though I can hardly tell...Actually I didn't know until her mom told me.

Anyway…I am not sure where you are located but you should go to this site:

http://www.ican-online.org/

They have on-line groups through Yahoo Groups, sometimes you can find your local group, but I also like the main group.

There is also a Homebirth group, too. And they have great answers to many, many questions and offer wonderful support even during the time of decision making.

I can recommend some good books to get you on your journey:

I am glad to see that you are not going to accept ERCS (elective repeat cesarean section) without exploring your options. If you need more info or have more questions feel free to email me!!! But I hope this helps to point you in the right direction.
Reply:The only thing you can do is try to find a doctor who thinks that you're an acceptable risk. Shop around, talk to lots of different OB-GYNs... hopefully you can find one who'll follow your wishes. If not, then maybe it'll help to think to yourself "better safe than sorry!"
Reply:First you have to know if it is even possible because if you have a vertical uterine incision, they positively will not allow a VBAC. It doesn't matter if the external skin incision is horizontal - the uterine could still be vertical. So make sure you know.

More and more OBs are willing to do VBAC, especially if your uterus has had a few years to heal properly - if you just had your baby in the last 6 months to a year, that is not as favorable.

You'll just need to keep searching until you find one. I suggest calling perinatal specialists, who are OBs with more training in high risk pregnancies and deliveries. Get a referral from your primary OB.

Good luck to you, but be open to whatever needs to happen, because ultimately your safety and the baby's well being are what's most important.
Reply:If your first c/s was a emergency, and a horizontal incision was used, then you can't have a vaginal delivery : ( . For emergency deliveries, both the abdominal and uterine incisions are transverse, instead of horizontal, which is used for planned, or even rushed c/s. ( http://www.mayoclinic.com/popupnowrap.cf... ) Because of the risk of uterine rupture (when the scar burst open) during labor, VBAC is NOT allowed. Usually, the doc will plan the c/s at 38 weeks or so, to avoid the possibility of going into labor and threrefore the possibility of rupture, with can quickly kill both mom and baby.

If the incision on your uterus was a transverse, then you should be allowed to attempt VBAC. First off, call your insurance company to see if they have any policies that wouldn't allow it. If they give you the go ahead, talk to your doc, but be firm about your decision! If she flat out refuses, which is her right, you may have to start a new search for a OB. Or your current OB may even recommend one who does VBAC's. Some midwifes do have privledges in some hospitals,,, so you might give that route a try as well (your insurance company shold have a list in your area). The hospital of your choice may also avoid VBAC's, so be prepared to switch hospitals as well. I would NOT recommend a home birth though! (simply because there is a higher risk of complication)

P.S. This only covers the information about incisions! There may have been some factor that I'm not aware of that forced your first c/s. If so, and it's something that is still present, then it may rule out a VBAC.
Reply:unfortunatly your situation is sooo common....the induction itself causes a c-section

as much as you may love you newfound OB......if you truly want a VBAC is to shop around for a midwife or other OB and find a birthing center or consider birthing at home

a VBAC can be done safely if you are allowed to have a spontaneous labor.....No inductions of the medical kind

good luck

Reply:If the trees on the slope are J-shaped, then don't build there. The trees are like that because the ground is moving and they're trying to stay upright.

You should always hire a geologist to look at the building site before you actually build to avoid these kinds of things. Unless it's a building design problem and not a slope problem.

Anything built on a slope will have subsidence. It will need underpinning regularly too. Also, like you state, hurricanes, earthquakes, tremors etc. houses on slopes are the first to go.
Reply:The real problem is when the cardboard gets wet.
Reply:I guess the right way would be to level the land where the house is to be built. Another way I thought would have been to block it up instead of the stilt houses you see so often at the beaches. I am not an architect though.
Reply:It just depends on the area!

:-)
Reply:Well, being that the mountains are being clearcut and there's excessive rain because of global climate change, I'd say anyone who builds a house on a mountain slope is pretty silly.

That goes for people who build on flood plains, and directly on the coast too. All of these places are vulnerable, especially when it rains or there are storms. Anyone who buys there must think that they can prevail over nature, which makes them an idiot, in my book.
Reply:that it happen's sometimes.

If you want to manage computers than you are definitely looking at an IT course (Not software, programming, database or designing). Hardware and networking is what you want to do.

Legal copy of course!

Free download P.C.?
It is currently illegal to make any copy of a DVD because that means that the encryption or access controls are broken. Any tool that does that is illegal in the USA as well.

Any thoughts on C-5 enamel?

Over the years I have overbrushed my teeth and now at 23 I think that my enamel, mainly on my front teeth, is ruined. I have heard there is no way to restore it other than some kind of bonding or other asthetic surgery, but was hoping to find something that could be used at home. I came across a product on the web called C-5 enamel and it supposidly helps but of course I remain quite skeptical... any dentists or consumers that have tried or heard anything about this product??? I am desperate (OCD does NOT help this cause!!)

Any thoughts on C-5 enamel?
I am not sure how reliable C-5 enamel is. C-5 enamel boosts the ability of saliva to remineralize tooth structure which has been damaged as the result of acid attack. However, you could just chew on Xylitol Gum which can slow or halt periodontal problems, remineralize tooth enamel, reduce tooth decay rates both in high-risk groups. Simple dental fillings are still my best choice.
Reply:You say youTHINK you've ruined your enamel, but has your dentist actually told you that? It may not be as bad as you think. Get an exam then focus on what the problem (if any) is. In my practice, my patients who have tried OTC products to fix their teeth either do nothing that helps or actually make them worse. See your dentist.

No A/C. How do I create a good breeze?

My apartment building is being remodeled and they took the a/c out for at least a month. And of course, it's been hitting the high 70's all week long. My apartment is miserable...and so am I. How do I create a good breeze with fan(s) and the windows/doors open?

The the fans have to be in a certain spot? If you imagine what a 90 degree angle looks like....i have a window on one side of the angle and a window and a door on the other angle. Make sense?

No A/C. How do I create a good breeze?
I think making a good breeze is something that you can't really control, I mean if you have the window's open and the wind isn't blowing I don't know what you can do.

This may help you. Put a big bowl of ice in front of the fan. That way your fan will be blowing cooler air on you. I know it sounds silly but it works.
Reply:The best way, by far, to cool a room (when you don't have AC) is to PULL air through the room. We lived in a house for 26 years that did not have AC...but what we did have was a nice large attic fan that pulled air in through our windows and up into the attic.

So, get a box fan (24 x 24 or 30 x 30, depending on the size of your window) and put it in one of your windows. Make sure that it is blowing out. Then, open your other window. The fan will suck air through the apt. and cool the place down very nicely.
Reply:best thing i can think of is to have one fan in a window pointed in, and another in the other window pointed out, this will help the air move through your room faster and help keep it cooler.
Reply:When you open your windows, only open the top and the bottom(if the top window opens) about 4 inches and open a window opposite it the same amount. you will create a cross draft.
Reply:Do you know anyone at the fire Department they have smoke blowers that are like typhoon speed.

Sounds like you have a problem. You could go buy a real big fan and depending on which way the wind is blowing aim the fan into or out of the doorway....You don't always need to blow air in to cool.

Or go to the Managers office and take their A/C
Reply:well. if you open up the window and but a box fan it would be a pretty good brezze.

Taking a second course of low dosage interferon for Hep C?

I've been through 2 years of interferon and rebetrol. One pre PEG and one with PEG. Still have a viral load. My liver doc says low dose interferon will help in the long run. I can't find anything in the lit about this. Still taking milk thistle and zero alcohol.

So, before I have to fork over 600 bucks a month, does low dose interferon work and does anyone have a link to it?

Talk to another doctor.
Reply:I'm sorry, but I don't have answers for you. Here is a link to the CDC web site, with up-to-date info on hep C. Maybe you can find it here.

Any pet friendly resorts near wash. d.c. mtn. or beach?

looking to take a sm. toy poodle on vacation. Looking for a nice condo or hotel near a beach or Mtn. area w/ golf course.

Preferably with 500 miles of Wash. D.C. Myrtle beach would be stretching it but is possible

Any pet friendly resorts near wash. d.c. mtn. or beach?
Get away from the madding crowds in Ocean City or VA Beach. Go to (relatively) quiet Lewes, DE. There are at least ten 18-hole courses (many public, some award-winning) within 20 miles of Lewes, a nice %26amp; clean beach, and a wonderful B%26amp;B called the "Lazy L at Willow Creek" that loves dogs of all sizes (http://www.lazyl.net). They'll even help you get tee times and tell you where the pet-friendly beaches are!

For a more luxurious vacation in Ches. Bay, go to the Hyatt Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa, %26amp; Marina. They welcome dogs, and their 18-hole golf course is quite nice.

If you'd rather just pick a destination and find a pet-friendly hotel (e.g., Williamsburg, Myrtle Beach, etc.), then try this web site: http://www.bringyourpet.com It will give you the names of hotels that are pet-friendly in just about any resort area you'd be interested in.
Reply:in Williamsburg is one

I want to do a course in 3D animation? Can i do it on the basis of my S.S.C. results?

1st I had thought about doing B.C.S.But after that i gave up my idea and thought about doing career in 3D animation. So i want your advice from you my friends please help me out to choose my career in 3D.

I want to do a course in 3D animation? Can i do it on the basis of my S.S.C. results?
i'm not sure of what SSC or BCS means but with 3D animation in my school its basically you are an Animation major which have to learn both 2D and 3D animation...which you have to model and rig your characters and all that good stuff...if ya know how to do that then sure go into Animation major. I'm a Game Art and Design major and I share classes with the Animation people but near the end of my courses we divert and I focus more on 3D modeling while Animation focus on 2D/3D Animations

but you can still go into the school blindly cause they teach you the fundimentals first and if you can follow it you'd do ok.
Reply:I wanted to do computer animation myself, but went into engineering instead. I plan afterwards to do some online programs for it after I graduate.

Make your decision or whatever.

I just wanted to let you know theres a program out there, open source so it free.

Try it out, and if you hate it, maybe that will help your decision.....

Blender ( both for mac and windows)

of course theres better programs out there than this, but its free.........

I hope this helps.

Im a graduate of B.com(c.s). wen can i do GNIIT course whether after finishing my U.G r ryt nw...?

BCom + GNIIT? Well no harm in this choice. U can do ur GNIIT along with it BCom. U can go for GNIIT classes on sundays or in the evening after ur college hours, which ever suits you. But please keep in mind that to get placed after GNIIT u need to have a taste for it and study sincerely with as much sincere u show towards BCom. Doesn't mean if u r in NIIT u get a job. U also needs to acquire the talents and skill that they impart to you. The course coverage of GNIIT is too good. They always pick the best and current in industry.

All the best, go ahead.

Why wouldn't you "barrel down on a slide using the course adjustment knob?" Is it b/c the slide will break?

concerning microscopes--we were always told you could damage the very expensive lens

Why wouldn't you "barrel down on a slide using the course adjustment knob?" Is it b/c the slide will break?
Yeah, unless you're looking at a very rare specimen or a difficult to prepare sample, nobody really cares about the slide. Lenses, on the other hand, are precisely machined optics and are easily susceptible to scratches and damage.
Reply:if your talking about a microscope, then yes it is because the slide cover will break because it is made from thin glass

What are some ways to convince a professor to change a grade from a D to a C?

A student recieved a grade of a D in a Math course. THe student has a very good academic relationship with this teacher. This student always asked for help when he/she needed it. This student also recieved tutoring from the teacher many, many times and the teacher was always patient and helpful. Now after taking the course and recieving a grade of a D. The student realized that he/she needs a grade of a C in order to not to take the course again which would be very expensive and time consuming. THe teacher did all that he could do during the time of teaching the class, and the student did all that he/she could do. How should the student approach the teacher about changing the grade and what should the student say?

What are some ways to convince a professor to change a grade from a D to a C?
What kind of a wimpy teacher would lie about a grade to save a student from having to learn the material.

Changing this grade would be lying. You are asking how to get your teacher to lie.
Reply:haha,well u know...bribe =p
Reply:Effort should definitely be taken into consideration. If the student made lots of effort (in this case it sounds like it) and completed all the assignments within the given amount of time, then the professor should reconsider the grade. Does the student understand the process and sometimes just makes careless mistakes, or would the student benefit from having the class over again? While it would be expensive and time consuming, if the class is an important one and the concepts still aren't grasped, then the student should take the class over. I would definitely discuss the effort put forth and the actual benefits of repeating the class with the professor.
Reply:Have you considered the possibility that the student really should have failed, but the teacher gave him a D because he worked so hard?

Is AP Physics C different or harder than Physics B? Can you take both?

I think my son is taking calculus BC which is more difficult than calculus AB, so I thought Physics C would be harder than B, but in his high school course list it just looks different than B.

If my son just needs physics to opt out of a college science elective, is it better to take B or C? Does each one get you out of one course, but a different course? Do people ever take both Physics B and Physics C?

Is AP Physics C different or harder than Physics B? Can you take both?
Some people take both, but not usually. Physics C is harder since it is calculus-based. But it is different. It's on different subjects that are harder than those in Physics B.

If he is planning to major in an area related to math, the school will make him take their version of physics, because that's just what colleges do. If he's going to major in a non-math based area, then it could get him out of one or maybe even two college science or math electives.

He doesn't need to take B before C.
Reply:Physics C is Calculus based while Physics B is not and the Physics C curriculum covers more than the Physics B curriculum.

Physics B will not enable him to opt out of a full Physics course in college but Physics C may allow him to opt out of a full Physics course in college if he does well enough on the AP Physics C exam. Some colleges won't allow students to opt out of general Physics though even if they do well on the AP exams because they believe a college course in general Physics is much better than an AP class in Physics.

Usually the only AP class that people take both of are Calculus AB and BC because of the different pace of both classes but I suppose he could take both Physics B and C if his school allows it.

Vector addition in C++...?

I'm attempting to learn how to use C++ on my own in an independent studies course. I have compleated several different types of programs already on my own and am now attempting to create a vector addition program, but I'm stuck. I'm looking for a program which is already complete to use as a template to understand the programming methods better. Please don't think I am just asking for your help with homework, I'm really just trying to understand how to program better. Thanks in advance.

Where should I start to learn to design/program web sites and web applications (I have experience in c++/java)

I would like to learn more than just basic HTML and site design also getting into creating dynamic data-base driven websites and programming web applications. I have experience with C/C++ and Java, however I have never used Java with anything to do with the web (only took some programming courses using the language and covering theory, not the specific uses).

Where should I start to learn to design/program web sites and web applications (I have experience in c++/java)
you have experience c++ and java . so it should be simple for you to start web designing . first start with html . work it harder . you know java . so it can be so useful for you to learn XML . XML and java can be so useful together . then start FLASH MX.

good luck

You'll need knowledge of sql and relational databases in general for setting up and querying a database. And you'll need knowlede of either php, asp.net or coldfusion to interact with that database from your website.

You could start with some books on these topics and there's tons of information on the internet.

Where can I find an good ESL certificate course located in the Washington, D.C. area? Preferably N. Va.?

Just looking for the best schools in the area to obtain a certificate from. Thanks!

Where can I find an good ESL certificate course located in the Washington, D.C. area? Preferably N. Va.?
If your choice is based on location, you may be limited as to where you can go.

You also need to decide if you prefer a CELTA or a TESOL certificate. (Actually, after looking at http://www.teaching-esl-to-adults.com/ce... , I see that there aren't any CELTA locations in your area).

When I found my TESOL certification course on the West Coast, I went to the schools and interviewed the directors of the schools. Ask them about where their students are currently teaching. Ask if they have a job placement program. Ask if you can sit in on one of the classes. You should be able to get a feel of the best school for you.

Good luck.

Can the army stop you getting a job in civie street if you get c.d.t.'d?

i got discharged from forces through the c.d.t (compulsary drug testing team). I served ten years and i am strugilng to find a job, altough i have done some courses can the army stop me suitable emploment

Can the army stop you getting a job in civie street if you get c.d.t.'d?
The army can't stop you getting any job in civvie street. In saying that, an employer might want to see your discharge documents and the reason for your discharge may show on that. Other than that, the Army has nothing to do with you trying to find a job and they cannot influence anyone in this respect. Hope you do find something soon. Good Luck.
Reply:No the Army cannot stp you getting employment, how ever any prospective employer may ask to see your record of service which I presume would show an administrative discharge, how you explain that away is up to you.
Reply:The Army doesn't care.... a potential employer just needs to see the type of discharge that you got.
Reply:No, but it will be a problem if you apply for any job that requires security clearance such as police, civil service, MoD. When you are applying for a normal job just don't tell them why you were discharged.
Reply:Only if it is a civil service job or requires a security clearance
Reply:Not neccessarily but it can be quite difficult as it is on your record

and it may prove difficult in obtaining references
Reply:The US Army can't stop you, but it's up to the prospective employer when and if they ask for your DD-214 whether or not he will hire you. Hopefully you have a marketable specialty that an employer would over look your back ground in drug use. Hopefully you've cleaned youself up and got away from drugs.

Good luck.
Reply:The British army are not bothered what you do in civie street and will not pass on information UN less you apply for a government post ,

I am 7th grader who wants to skip a grade b/c of being overaged. How?

I live in N/carolina. I am 14 but 7th grader. I want to skip this grade in the middle of quarter. Can i do it now? I am not gifted but I got all my courses A. So, is that availavble to skip a grade only by my parent nomination?? that they want too. if my dad talk to principal, can she let me to skip a grade simply?? I am ashamed being with kids. I don't want answers like to not skip--but how to do it? is there anybody who know that some people skip agrade b/c of being overaged? Please!! I am really hurt mentally to be in here. PLease!!!

I am 7th grader who wants to skip a grade b/c of being overaged. How?
Your written English is not too good. Your parents can try for you but it is doubtful.
Reply:Ask your parents if you can go through independent study they offer it anywhere...thats how I graduated years ago and my kids now in their 20s graduated the same way...you could get to the level that you want in independent study then go back to your regular school in the grade that you are comfortable...talk to a counselor at school, then talk to your parents after you have the facts, Parents want, need and like facts...Good Luck. Merry Christmas...
Reply:Thats how old i was when i was in 7th grade and it wasnt a big deal but if it is for u then u could talk to ur parents or someone at ur skool
Reply:Ok, why are you in 7th grade and 14? Were you retained, or did you start school late, and why? Were you too immature to start school? There has to be a good reason , right? Skipping grades is not all about getting good grades...it is about social maturity as well. Chances are, if one of your teachers have not brought it up, they will really not agree with it. Do you have friends? Do you have social issues? I don't see any harm in your dad speaking with the school, but they don't just hand kids the chance to skip a grade. Good luck...

Confused about D&C?

I had a miscarriage on Monday the 19th. The doctor gave me the option to have a D%26amp;C, wait for mother nature to takes its course, or give me medication to help pass the tissue. I have passed most of the tissue and cells, but there is still some left. I am scared of doing a D%26amp;C... but I have read that it helps you heal faster.. and possible help you concieve faster later...

anyone have any advice for me? I want to heal the fastest, and get back to try to conceive again soon.

BTW I was 12 weeks when I had the miscarriage.

Confused about D%26amp;C?
I am so sorry...I hope you are ok. I had a miscarriage when I was 12 1/2 weeks. And for me it happened naturally, it wasn't easy either. I passed everything at home, but some of it was still stuck and it was just hanging there. And that hurt, so I had to rush to the hospital so my doctor could get it out. She did and to avoid a long story...That was the best thing for me at the time I didn't know what a D%26amp;C was and still don't. So I did heal pretty quickly from that..I didn't feel like trying for a long time because of that. But I did a year later, now a I have a 14 month old...So just do what you think will be best for you!
Reply:I had a D%26amp;C on Dec 1st 06, and everything worked out ok. You shouldnt be scared since it is performed only when mother nature doesnt clean out your system very well, or if you have a baby that didnt naturally miscarry the way I did. If you get a great OBGYN who performs the procedure, I'd opt for general anestesia, (which is to be put to sleep) cause honestly, I didnt want to watch any of it. If you get local anestesia, (numbing from waist down), you'll see everything they do, however you wont feel it. THe thought of being awake scared me more. Whatever you choose, it doesnt hurt either way. It'll be a little uncomfortable afterwards, but trying to get your body back to normal is most important. Good luck TTC, cause Im in the process!
Reply:I had a miscarriage when I was 17 I still had some tissue left inside which was causing some major cramps, I had to have a d%26amp;c, which helped out tremindously, and I now have two little girls. Dont be afraid of it. Its good to have this done after a miscarriage.
Reply:I miscarried at 12 weeks. I opted for the D%26amp;C. I had virtually no discomfort at all. Healed quickly too. I had a son within a year!!!
Reply:It's an outpatient procedure, and can be helpful. I don't think you should be worrying about concieving faster, but doing what is most healthy for you.
Reply:D %26amp; C is a scraping outpatient process. It only takes a couple of minutes for the procedure. I had one done. It's not that bad as long as you have a great doctor. The hardest part is getting past the fact of not being pregnant anymore. You will heal in a couple of days. You can get pregnant as early as 2 weeks after. The doctors recommend trying again in about a month to 3 months and others say as soon as you're ready emotionally and physically then go ahead. Check out this site www.ispokewithmychild.com.

Sorry for your loss
Reply:D %26amp; C is done to totally clean out your uterus so it will be in the best possible condition for future pregnancies. I had one many years ago because the doctor wanted to make sure that everything had passed, and there is no real way for them to know. I was in the hospital for 24 hrs and recovering at home for about 2 weeks. No major pain and all went well. I went on to conceive 8 months after that. There is nothing to be scared of so do it, get back to optimum health and try again. Best of Luck.
Reply:It has been dubbed "dusting and cleaning", however that isn't it's real technical name, it is true. D %26amp; C is where they remove all extra tissue lining from your uterus. I know it sounds scary, but it's nessesary.

Has anyone with a planned c-section went into labor before the planned day?

Okay I am 36 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have a c-section planned for Feb. 4th but of course I am nervous about going into labor before that day. Has this ever happened to any of you? Did you go to the hospital right away or what? I had a c-section with my first child and I am terrified of labor happening so fast that I can't get to the hospital and my uterus rupturing or something horrible...I know it's stupid. But I just want to hear from someone who has already experienced labor with a planned c-section. Thank you!!

Has anyone with a planned c-section went into labor before the planned day?
I have three children 1 emergency c-section and two planned c-sections. With my 2nd baby and first planned c-section I was just as worried as you. I was scheduled for Dec 28th 2004. The stress in my household and relationship was terrible. Put that on top of being pregnant and I think it was the cause of my labor. I went into labor on December 14 2004 around 3 am. I just started having really bad back pain and cramping. I called my OB around five and they said get to the hospital ASAP! Before the doctor got there they had me checked and I was only dialated to 3cm. They gave me medicine to stop my contractions which worked within 20 minutes. I was allowed to rest and keep on the meds. When the doctor finally got there he decided to go ahead and do the c-section two weeks early at 37 weeks and now I have a very healthy, very happy, and very beautiful three year old daughter.
Reply:I had a planned c-section and I went into labor at 28 weeks but I didn't even know I was in labor. I was having alot of pain and cramps and this bad urge to go pee and I called my DR since it was after hours he sent me to the hospital and when they hooked me up to the monitors they said i was having contractions every three minutes. So that's what that pain is? anyhow they tried getting me to lay on my side and hydrate me but they would not stop so they gave me a shot of something in my arm and it made my heart race but it stopped the labor. I was a walking nervous wreck the rest of my pregnancy but the good Lord got me through it and I delivered a beautiful healthy 5 pound 15 ounce baby girl at 37 weeks via c-section. I had my surgery a little early due to high blood pressure but she is 5 months old now and doing great. Good Luck to you and I know that you will be fine, A ruptured uterus is pretty unlikely and if you are a fair distance from the hospital even because the uterus ruptures during very intense labor meaning that you would have to be a LONG way from the hospital or have a very quick delivery. I think even then it does not happen often, pretty rare. I have the same fears though so I can relate to that.
Reply:Yes this happened to me with my third baby. I was sched for my csection June 3, 2005. My water broke the morning of June 1st . I was actually in labour for about 5 hrs , it was bad because i was in back labour. They did the csection anyway and she was born at 12:34 pm . I later found out that she was not in a good birthing position , Dr said a vbac would have been nearly impossible.
Reply:omg! i read your post and that is me! I have my c section planned for Feb 8th and are deathly afraid of the labor thing. we have no family in town and i have my little girl who is 17 months and my husband to worry about when I go into labor. the doc said unless my fluid drops, water breaks, or something "emergency" happens, they will not push up the date due to legal reasons. I had my other little girl last time at 37 weeks due to breech/low fluid. So far my fluid level is okay with this one.

so, i guess i am in the same boat as you.... the wait and see game. I was at the hospital 2 nights ago with 5 minute contractions but they gave me 3 shots of something and 2 iv fluid bags to stop them.

I don't understand why they can't "check" us to see if labor is around the corner and then decide to take them if so. I don't understand.

Can I use a FAFSA to get aid to take high school courses at a local college so I can graduate early?

I'm not sure if this can be done b/c my sister in law wants to graduate from high school early and needs the money so she can take the courses.

Can I use a FAFSA to get aid to take high school courses at a local college so I can graduate early?
No - federal aid for college is only available to high school graduates or those holding a GED.

Good Luck!!!
Reply:No, the FAFSA process is only for college level courses. High school and PSEO students don't qualify. Try your local adult basic education thru the school district. Most slots are for students who need to make up a course or two, but the extras can be taken by any hs student who gets approval from their guidance counselor. These are nearly always free, requiring only a book deposit.
Reply:I dont see why not, you can use the FAFSA to go to private high schools. Tell her to call the local college and talk to a finacial advisor. Their might be a few more ways other then the FAFSA

What's the hottest out there right now? Java, C#, ASP.NET? Which should I pursue?

First, a little background about myself: I took some java courses back in 2001 and then worked in VB development for about a year thereafter. As life would have it I ended up pursuing other things, but now would love to get back into progrmaming. I've been educating myself in C# and ASP.NET. and I feel like I'm learning them quickly. My question is, what's the hottest out there right now? Which direction should I go in that will likely give me the best chance of landing a job in this field? Also, I've been looking into getting the MCSD certification, is that worth pursuing? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What's the hottest out there right now? Java, C#, ASP.NET? Which should I pursue?
I expect that either Java or Microsoft stuff will both be very much in demand. Do not forget about PHP.

I know many programmers who are in all these environments and they are all doing fine. They will all be around for a long time. Consider COBOL. Many people thought it would be dead by now. It is still very much alive. Pick one of these and go with it. You cannot go wrong with any of them.

Below I provided a URL for an index of the most popular programming languages.

1. Java 20.8% (increased slightly from 1 yr ago)

2. C 13.9 % (down slightly from 1 yr ago)

3. Visual Basic 10.9% (up from #4 1 yr ago)

4. PHP 9.1% (up from # 5 1 yr ago)

5. C++ 8.7% (down from 1 yr ago)

Check out the entire list.
Reply:C# with ASP.NET
Reply:I would recommend, you pursue Java. Your knowledge in C# and ASP.Net will just give you better opportunities. Having knowledge on different languages will give you edge to land a job and at the same time - a well paid job.
Reply:I would like to suggest you Java. Cause it is the most immersing language in Programming sector. The most important thing is that it is Platform independent so you will face to headache about the platform.

And Java has its rich library as well as Object oriented feature.
Reply:I would suggest C if you're looking for a language that is usable almost everywhere. As for which one is the "hottest", that all depends on the employers you're looking for. I mean - you wouldn't go to the makers of Runescape and say "I want a job developing in ASP".
Reply:i would suggest you for ASP.NET and C# ..

1.They will be the future .. the issue with Java is the technology is sctattered .. where as Asp.net ,, microsoft have done a good job in bring these available into one window ..

2.The new release will take the web development to new high .The WWF(workflow foundtaion) and WPF (Presentation foundation) and als MVC framework in Asp.net will make thinks more robust annd stable

the future is ASP.NET and C# ..

I have no clue what your course is, but any assignment would look more professional and most like get a better grade if it is typed.

Does anyone know this website that has free online school courses?

I was reading this article from Time mag from January 2006. In the beginning was about a dark joke about someone rising from the dead and can't familiarize anything except when he enters a school he knows it's a school because it's the same like a century ago.

The title had 20th century in it I think. It also talked briefly about a girl who told her mom she had to remember all the rivers in some area. And her mom was like students shouldn't have to remember that because she can always get river names off the internet. The same with the periodic table.

I can't remember anything else but the article mentioned this website that has free online courses and that someone finished calcucus and another class online in 18 days i think..

i just need that website. it started with "C"

thank you.

I am 7th grader who wants to skip a grade b/c of being overaged. How?

I live in N/carolina. I am 14 but 7th grader. I want to skip this grade in the middle of quarter and to finish the year being in 8th grade. PLease!!! But tell the effects would happen in high school like concerning loss of courses. but I am strongly determined that i can do in next grades without difficulty. Please help me!! please!!

I am 7th grader who wants to skip a grade b/c of being overaged. How?
it's probably too late. Especially if you're not gifted. Usually it's the young kid who does well and is still getting straight As. And it's the teachers that usually nominate the kid because they can see s/he is not being challenged.

the age thing really isn't a big deal and will matter even less as you get older.
Reply:Your written English is not too good. Your parents can try for you but it is doubtful.
Reply:Your age barely matters at all. What's important is your ability.
Reply:I'm in the UK so I don't know exactly how the US system works.

But if the way you've typed this question is typical of your standard of English, then maybe you're not ready to skip a grade.

I'm not trying to be nasty to you, it's just that the way you've written this question is not the standard I would expect from a 14 year old.
Reply:This actually would have to be done before the school year starts. If the school felt that you were advanced enough, they could have allowed you to test and possibly skip 7th grade. Please have your parents talk to the school guidance counselor about this. Skipping grades is not done because of age. It is recommended on knowledge and learning ability. What you learn each year are building blocks for the followng year. If you dont have all the supportive blocks in place the tower will collapse. You dont want that to happen to you in high school.

Which is a better course and highly paid i.t., c.s., or computer engineering?

see hows your work

Which is a better course and highly paid i.t., c.s., or computer engineering?
Well in terms of a better course, it depends what you want to do. Computer Science deals primarily with programming where as computer engineering deals more with hardware aspects of the computer. I myself was a computer engineering major but I switched to Computer Science because I preferred the depth and the focused concentration in programming. In terms of money CE and CS majors make about the same, the national average has CE majors making a little bit more but the difference is irrelevant. You will make good money in either field. Most times if a job requires a CE/EE degree then CS major will more than likely not be able to get a job in that type field since the in depth knowledge of creating hardware is not usually taught at CS programs in most universities. CE majors have the luxury in most cases in being able to apply for the same jobs that CS majors would be able to apply for since they do have programming knowledge. However since CE is a less focused degree in a single area like CS, jobs in software engineering, programmer etc are often favored for CS majors because of the higher depth of knowledge of programming. In regards to an IT career, you can usually get a degree in Information Science to get a job in that area, but CS and CE majors are easily able to get those jobs as well. I do not know much about the salary range for IT majors but I know they are less than CE/CS majors. In the end I suggest you should choose the path that interests you the most, because you will be earning a high salary compared to other majors right out of college anyway with either of these programs, and the salary all depends on what you want to do with your degree. If you research your career interests more that will give you a better understanding of what type of degree would be best suited for you.
Reply:probably anything engineering...

I'm thinking go to medical coding & billing certified courses but???

i'm scare to go can somebody done this courses explane to me? And can't write correct, i' m from other country , but speake good and inderstand. Medical C%26amp; B how much they make? maybe i'm thinking go med assistant wich best career?

I'm thinking go to medical coding %26amp; billing certified courses but???
I was a medical biller, but I never took a course. I learned everything on my job. I think it's better to learn on the job because even if you learn how to bill insurance companies, you still have to learn your employer's way of doing things. At the company I worked for, a medical assistant and a medical biller pretty much made the same. I started off in '99 and made $8.25 an hour, but by the time I left, new employees were making $11.00 an hour. Your pay will also greatly vary due to where you live. The best thing for you to do right now is to get some information from coding and billing schools and go from there. I personally like to learn things by someone teaching me face to face, but you may find it easier to learn from a computer. I loved my job and wish I were still working, but I left due to a bad change in management at my company. I started off not knowing anything about medical billing and worked my way up to assistant manager and was offered two manager positions, but turned them down due to the way managers were treated where I worked. Good luck.

Give details of the course FOR obtating the membership of C.F.A. in u.s?

CFA? Do you mean Chartered Financial Analyst? There is no specific course to get the CFA. The CFA is recognized world wide. Hence, the guy in France does the same thing to get his CFA. It is made up of 3 exams given once a yr (except for the 1st which is twice). You can study on your own or take a prep class, sort of like the SAT classes. In order to get the CFA title, you also need 2 yrs work experience in the financial sector. You can still take the tests (and hopefully pass), but you won't be offiicial until you have the work experience. Bottom line; you can just walk in and take the exam if you want. You should be able to study on your own and pass.

When do you usually sign up for Bar Exam Review courses, when do you take them and which are the best?

I'm going to law school in a state other than where I will be taking my Bar Exam. Are the review courses offered immediately after graduation, say in late May before the July exam so that I can take review courses in my Bar (home) state? Also how is studying on your own? Possible? I am not a fan of Kaplan, I took them for the LSAT and was really disappointed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also does anyone know about the difficulty of the D.C. and CT Bar??? Thanks

When do you usually sign up for Bar Exam Review courses, when do you take them and which are the best?
I'm not a huge fan of kaplan either, but the alternative is not great either. BarBri is pretty much the monopoly on bar prep. Most bar preps start after the school year, though your better off learning all the law in during the semester so that you can just review the months before instead of learning it for sometimes the first time (law school doesn't teach you everything you need to know).

Plenty study on their own. There are plenty of books to do that. To me, any kind of test prep is good if you need to stay focused and have questions. If you can remain focused on your own schedule (which you'll have to do no matter what) go self-study and find some resources to answer questions you have.

D.C. and CT shouldn't be too bad, you'll have to look up the bar pass rate.

You can try sharing your question in law school forums.

Hi,,,,,Help Me ...tell me some network courses?

I M WORKING IN T.C.I.L COMPONY OF NETWORKING...AND WANT TO MAKE MY CAREER IN NETWORKING..and i m bsc [ maths] .so pls just suggest me good career op. courses./....THANKS........................

Hi,,,,,Help Me ...tell me some network courses?
networking people are the prima donnas of computing ( at least in their minds)

They are both too busy , too self important and too greedy to tell you much to get you started

To get you started along the road - so that you know enough to get along the road and then take courses once you can speak at least some of the lingo - find older computer network books

do not know where you are

- libraries , book sales , garage sales

The older books will tell and explain basics - these are so simple and standard that network people cannot be bothered explaining it - but it will be the basics of the standard stuff being used now

Find old computer networking books to learn enough basics and the lingo to discuss with these fine people and then you discuss with them ( and intimidate them) on their level
