I found an iPod and Of Course I'm going to keep it b/c I don't know who the hell it belongs to, but can they

Okay, so I found a nice pink iPod and it has some nice songs in it.. lol! If anyone can claim it, I'll return it to them - don't worry! But, I don't anyone will due to the location as to where I found it...

Anyways, my question is -

Is there any way for the person to track it down and found out where it's located? B/c I put it in my computer and for the name part it said Mat! something I don't know - can they track me down on computer or what?

I found an iPod and Of Course I'm going to keep it b/c I don't know who the hell it belongs to, but can they
Yes, if that person regesterd their ipod with apple then you can find the owner thru apple using the serial number. keep in mind thou, most people don't register their ipods, so it sounds like you got a new ipod
Reply:I'd say maybe take it to the Police Station and if no one claims it within a month, its yours LEGALLY.
Reply:they cant track it, someone stoll mine and there was no way of getting it back, but keep trying to find its owner!
Reply:Don't think you should keep it....put up found signs..that sucks....I'd want you to try your best to give it back to me...man that does suck. I don't think they can unless it has some gps tracking system :p

Help! I'm Predent/premed, I need help choosing courses for next year?

Hi, I'm currently a freshman in university, and I'm going to be a sophomore next year. I'm pre-med/dent b/c I want to be a dentist... I need help choosing courses.

Currently, I signed up for 2 general education courses (I need to complete these as a grad requirement), Cell Bio w/ Lab, Organic Chem w/ Lab, and a fitness class. But I'm debating whether I should take physics in place of one of the gen-eds soph. year, or if I should take physics jr. year. The benefit of taking it next year would be that two of my studious friends are taking it as well, and I would be able to call them for help. At the same time, phys. is a HARD course, especially with o. chem! But if I waited to take it jr. year, I would have to deal with DATS (like MCATS) at the same time. Anyone have any suggestions?

Help! I'm Predent/premed, I need help choosing courses for next year?
That is good. Take physics your junior year. Start studying for the DATS...

C++ and VISUAL Basic Difference?

Well I did Visual basic as a summer course and Now I am doing C++ , apparentley I know both are programming languages but what is the main difference between both? And what are the pros and cons?

C++ and VISUAL Basic Difference?
Really it depends on whether we are talking about pre-.Net or post-.Net, but I will make some assumptions.

About -

C++ is a true OO (Object Orientated) language. Meaning, you have class separation layers that makes it easy to do modular programming.

Pros-

Very Powerful language as most large legacy systems are built in C++. Codebases routinely can be larger than 10 million lines with little trouble due to the module nature of classes.

Cons -

Takes a true skilled programmer to use effectively, and because no object cleanup system exists, it is quite easy to leak memory.

VB+

About -

Originally built as a prototyping language to be used internally by MS. Was never really intended to be used for production systems.

Pros -

Very Rapid to use

Cons-

No Scalability whatsoever. Very difficult to build anything that is not generic in nature.
Reply:C++

u can say its professitional lang okay and its make alot of things for exmaple linux made by c++

Vb

like the same but u can't do kernel on it And its more easier just drop and drag And easier to connecting database
Reply:May be you can post your requirements at http://homework.feedmelink.com/

and let many programmers bid for your project.

You can hire whoever you like.

Do not pay any money afront however.
Reply:C++ is Character User Interface (CUI)

VB is Graphical User Interface (GUI)

In VB, you develop applications by using existing tools and you can do coding whenever required.

In c++ hard-end coding required. But you can develop very good logic. you can write system programs only in c++ not in vb.

Both are good and project requirement of vb or c++ depends on the domain.
Reply:Visual Basic programs works only for windows,

and C++ is used also on the other platforms
Reply:Everybody seems to have missed one important difference. Visual Basic is Windows only. VB is great if you want something that is easy to write in and only runs on Windows. C++ runs on just about everything. I use it on 68K, Linux, Nios etc. heck, even Windows when I have to.
Reply:More people use C++ thats what I know.

What's the fastest way to learn C++ and C#? Changing careers!?

I just lost my job in finance and I used to code HTML and design web pages for a living about 6 years ago. I know of 25 jobs looking for C++ and C# programmers and I am thinking about cramming in a three week crash course and teaching myself at least C++ and possibly C# if time allows. Any tips, hints, or help? I'm the main income for my family of four and my bank just downsized, so I need to get serious quick and find a new career fast. I know the business owners fairly well and know "people" who can get me into those jobs I believe. So if I can get in with some working knowledge, I think I can pull it off. Thanks for any help!

What's the fastest way to learn C++ and C#? Changing careers!?
If you have 8 to 10k to spend look up Microsoft Certified Solution Providers in your area. Visual Studio is the fastest tool to learn. You can learn it pretty well in just a few weeks.

If money matters it will take longer, about 25 weeks go to your community college.

One work of advise. A lot of guys avoid taking the object oriented design classes and just want to learn the code writing.

Sorry, the object oriented design is the MOST IMPORTANT thing you will learn.
Reply:I can understand ur problem... There are many sites for learning the basics of any language u prefer but inorder to learn any complicated and challenging codes in C and C++ try using this site I hope it ll come handy http://programglobe.blogspot.com
Reply:Cram a 4 year university degree in two weeks?

There is a shortage of IT and Coders as the outsourcing trend killed the industry in north America.

Even $70k a year can't buy talent anymore.
Reply:I started with C++ by manuals, books are the good intro.

You just need a good understanding in logic... If you think in Code before coding, its easy to understand it. If you have no idea what you are about to do, you're not gonna learn it very fast. Take good classes somewhere.
Reply:Wow, that is a wild career change that you are looking at.

If you have mde your mind to work as a programmer, learn C++ first and get the job that you can through the "people" yo u know. To keep that job for long, you'll have to learn a lot of other things which might include C# as well. So for now, do C++ alone.

No particular reason to choose C++. Choose C# as well. But don't spread your time for both. Best learn any one of them and learn good.

Job courses?

i know im bit young to be thinking of my future job (only 14) but i was wondering if anyone knew what courses i should take if i wanted to be a C.E.O of a company or like a real esate agent. thanks

Job courses?
There are no formal requirements to become a CEO. In fact, if you pay the small registration fee to your secretary of state and file your articles of incorporation along with and other required documents, you can appoint yourself the CEO of your own corporation.

If you want to be the CEO of a large corporation such as google or GM, many of these CEOs come from accounting and engineering paths. In addition, an increasingly large number have MBAs or specialized master's degrees. But again, no degree is necessary- in fact, Bill gates dropped out of college.

Real estate agents only have to complete their states' licensing requirements, which include around 150-200 hours of coursework and pass an exam. Most of the coursework is prescribed (i.e., contracts, RE math, RE law, etc.), but there is some room for electives that let you specialize in a particular area such as investments or residential. There are also other requirements that vary by state such as background checks and references.
Reply:C.E.O of a company and estate agent are very different jobs !

To be C.E.O it would take a UNI Certificate and plenty of experience in the company....

How many c-sections?

I will be having my 3rd c-section in August, my first child was breech, the second we planned a VBAC but needed to have a c-section two weeks early, so this one will be scheduled of course. My question is, how many c-sections are considered safe? We were going to have my tubes tied during this c-section but are having second thoughts that maybe we might want one more child several years down the road...is that safe? Obviously I'll talk to my dr about it but I was curious what others have been told :)

How many c-sections?
Thay will have to look once they get in there...My mom was tod no more than 2 but I know others that have had 5 or so...It depends on the scar tissue and the overall integrity of the uterus...They were not meant to be cut into that many times...Some people heal better than others.

You need to discuss what you are feeling with your dr. and not make a decision until after he sees how things look...
Reply:a family member of mine has had 4 sections but i think the doctors told her not to have any more
Reply:Truly depends on the OB most wont go beyond 4 safely.
Reply:To the best of my knowledge, you can have as many c-sections as required. The only thing that I know of that is considered "unsafe" is attempting VBAC after two c-sections because of the risk of uterine rupture during the delivery process.

However, it has been discovered that c-sections do increase your risk of miscarriage. Apparently a c-section causes a certain amount of scaring on the uterus. If the baby happens to implant on or very near the scare tissue, it's much more likely to miscarry.
Reply:well i my self had 4 but it depends on how fast you health
Reply:My sister was told 3 was her limit
Reply:it depends on how much scarring you have. 3 or 4 is the most that most OB's will do.

VB.Net versus C#.Net, which is a better in the long run?

I'm taking Programming courses and I have the choice of VB or C#. What is must commonly used in business or programming and which will develop my skills for programming?

VB.Net versus C#.Net, which is a better in the long run?
I recommend using C# primarily because it is the most popular .Net language among Microsoft's own employed developers, and it is a much more elegant and less wordy language. One thing I never liked about VB in comparison to C# is a declaration statement:

C#:

string strExample = null;

VB:

Dim strExample as String = Nothing

Nearly double the typing to accomplish the same thing. May not seem like a big difference, but imagine the added typing while writing an enterprise-level application.

An important thing to note about C# and VB is that they share the same runtime library, the .Net framework. The real power of these languages comes from the class libraries that are provided by the .Net framework. In fact, if you make good use of the framework classes, the bulk of your lines of code will differ only by the semicolon that is required at the end of a line of code in C# that is not used in VB.
Reply:C# is a much more powerful and elegant programming language. It will enable you to write better programs.

Also, you can count on C# receiving long term support from Microsoft if you are interested in developing Windows applications. Don't expect VB to be relevant for much longer.
Reply:VB.Net, best for bussiness and application side, c# website bussiness mean better
Reply:If you're familiar with c++ or java. Then C#.Net. You'll be able to learn the concepts of object oriented programming through this.

While VB.Net comes from the family of vb.
Reply:You can appreciate more of the concepts of OOP if you will go for C#.NET. From my experience as a programming instructor, those VB programmers (I mean VB6) find it hard to learn the concepts of OOP. OOP is a standard programming paradigm.

Which is the easiest, C+, C++, or java?

I have no interest in computer programming, and I have never done computer programming before. But I am required to take a computer programming course, so, I want to know which is the easiest, C+, C++, or Java? Also, I don't want to spend a whole lot of time on homework for one of this courses. Please tell me why it's easier too.

Which is the easiest, C+, C++, or java?
Java is the easiest. out of those three. You don't have to worry about memory management or pointers etc.

In Java you also have a richer library to work with out of the box. In easy-speak it means, they've programmed all the hard stuff for you, you just have to figure out how to put it together.
Reply:I have done a lot of programming before and have experience with c/c++ and Java. They are all have pretty much the same structure but however there are few differences that make all the programming languages different. Those for example are if they are "low" or "high" level. C/C++ are pretty much the same (C++ is an "updated" version of C) and they are both low level. Low level usually means they are harder to work with for various of reasons such as the "commands" you use aren't that human related. Java is kind of easier to understand but is not that powerful as c++ can be. If you want to be serious about programming take c or c++ but if not go with Java.
Reply:There is no (popular, well-known) language called C+, it's C.

I'm pretty sure C is the easiest: it's a language from the late 60's, early 70's that is still in use. It has been expanded upon and that language was called C++ (the plus-plus part means: increase the value of C by one). And Java is a language that, AFAIK, was made to look like C++ to make it easier for C++ programmers to switch to Java.

I love programming myself, but I can understand why you don't want to take a course in it. It's pretty ridiculous if it has little to do with the area in which you'll be working. I'd hate to be forced to take a plumbing or wood shop class, myself!

If you had a course of treatment for hepatitis C and are not "cured" when can you try again?"?

First, some background.

Currently available Hepatitis C treatment includes Pegylated Interferon - an immunomodulator (stimulated the immune system) and Ribavirin (a nucleoside agent - unknown mechanism). Pegylated Interferon is taken once weekly via subcutaneous injection and the ribavirin is taken orally, usually twice a day (dose varies based upon body weight and HCV genotype).

There are several Hepatitis C genotypes or varietes of HCV. Genotypes 1 and 4 generally require longer treatment (usually a minimum of 48 weeks) while genotypes 2 and 3 can be treated for 6 months or less - new studies have examined 14 or 16 week regimens.

Interferon can be difficult to tolerate - it causes tiredness, muscle aches, decreased blood cells to name a few side effects. Ribavirin can also cause side effects and sometimes the dose needs to be reduced.

The liklihood of response is around 50% for genotypes 1 and 4 (meaning that about half the people treated for 48 weeks will clear the Hepatitis C virus). For genotypes 2 and 3, the response rates are higher and can approach 90% (many more people are able to clear the virus.

Factors such as genotypes 1 or 4, high viral load (amount of virus in the body), alcohol use, cirrhosis (scarring of the liver), older age, male sex, and heavey body weight may contribute to a worse response.

There are investigational agents currently being studies, including VX950 and SCH 503034 (HCV protease inhibitors) as well as polymerase nucleoside inhibitors (NM283 or valopicitabine). Currently, these are all being studied in combination with Pegylated Interferon. Contact an academic medical center or visit http://www.clinicaltrials.gov to find studies for which you may be eligible.

Make sure you received optimal therapy the first time around - pegylated interferon, highest tolerable dose of ribavirin, support with growth factors (neupogen and epogen if necessary). If you did, then consider a clinical trial. Other options include retreatment with the same regimen for a longer period of time. There are also studies using higher doses of Pegylated Interferon for the first 12 weeks.

Also, some doctors use a diferent type of interferon called Infergen - it usually has to be injected daily at higher doses.

Talk with a hepatologist at an academic university hospital for advice and information on the latest therapies.

Good luck and best wishes for treatment success and SVR!

Reply:It depends on how advanced the liver disease is.My friend was in end stage liver disease and the treatment x 2 did not work.He had a transplant 6 years ago.He took a year of the newest treatment post transplant and the treatment failed.Unfortunately unless you catch Hep C in the early stages there is no cure for it.It is however a slowly progressive disease.My friend contacted the Hep C in 1968 and did not have advanced liver disease until 1998.

What courses can in do after taking commerce stream in eleventh class?PLEASE GUIDE ME?
Since you have already made up your mind to take commerce , you may prefer to to do B,B,A. ( Bachelor of business management) and subsequently M.B.A.(P.G.) after 12th standard . Take up computer training also .

If you do your P.G. in a standard institute , it would give you an opportunity to get selected for a good job in the campus interview .

All the best !!

Which course is better B.TECH[C.S] +MBA DEGREE OR B.B.E [BAC IN BUSINESS ECONOMICS]+MBA {FINANCE}?

If you want to manage a technological business or become an information officer, I'd definitely go with the first. Otherwise, the second is fine, although I generally think only masters degrees should be professional degrees: its always good to have an intellectual base to return to and a CS degree will help you become a better idea person.

Which course is better B.TECH[C.S] +MBA DEGREE OR B.B.E [BAC IN BUSINESS ECONOMICS]+MBA {FINANCE}?

If you are taking an MBA regardless of what undergrad you take then it is extremely important to take a bachelor that is business related. If you don't it will put you at a amjor disadvantage and you will have lots of catching up to do. I would therefore highly recommend a bachelor in business economics.

Computer science isn't really related to business, so if your ultimate goal is an mba then I wouldn't bother doing it.

C++ Data Structures and Algorithms - I'm scared?

Well I'm slowly chipping away at a BS in Computer Science and I've kind of put off one of the courses, Data Structures and Algorithms.

I know this is sort of a cheesy question, since the answer depends on many things...but I'm wondering how difficult this class will be. I'm nervous about it because I took the two previous C++ classes over a year ago...so not sure how much I'll remember. I did pretty good in these classes but was starting to struggle a bit toward the end with arrays of classes and whatnot.

I also did fine in the other pre-req for this course, applied discrete math, but we really didn't do any programming in this course.

Description of the course:

Upon completion of this course, you should be capable of discussing and/or applying C++ programming methods in the following areas:

• Analysis of algorithms using Big-O notation

• Complexity analysis

• Linked lists

• Queues

• Stacks

• Recursion

• Trees

• Heaps

• Searching

• Sorting

• Hashing

any thoughts? thanks

C++ Data Structures and Algorithms - I'm scared?
I found Data Structures to be easier than some of the other CS courses I took before it. At this point you should be comfortable with OOP and understand the basics of class design, pointers, etc. What data structures teaches you is how to store information in a way that is best suited to your program (quickest reads, writes, deletions, insertions, etc).

Each one of those structures listed has its own advantages and disadvantages, and you'll learn how to determine which is best for you. As for the implementation of the data structures, take some time to understand how each one works - the actual code isn't too difficult to write.

It wouldnt hurt to brush up on arrays of classes, since you may have to use them to represent the underlying data (depending on your instructor's specifications).

Good luck!
Reply:C++ is always a scary class to take...believe me I took a few myself in my quest for a degree in Electrical Computer Engineering.

I would go back and review any information you had from previous classes and if you feel lost or can't remmeber why you did some things try to load up your projects on a PC and step through them...also, maybe review some tutorials on-line...there are TONS of C++ tutorial sites and I know they will all provide you with similar information regarding the topics of C++ that you have covered (such as arrays, and classes).

Discrete math I think has very little to do with C++...I took 3 calculus classes and a differential equations course and never used anything from these classes when it came to learning the concepts of C++ they might suggest taking this course if you are going to be involved with programming any applications where math is involved and usually programming classes try to stick with more programming related information and would probably not care too much whether you can do discrete math :)

The list of topics to be covered is interesting and I can tell you right now it won't be easy, but its not impossible by any means. Maybe if you do review some online tutorials begin learning about these topics as well so you could get a little jump start and have a better understanding before you even go to the classes. You will probably find yourself following along and understanding a LOT better.

Here are some tutorial sites:

www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/

www.cprogramming.com/tutorial.html

www.glenmccl.com/tutor.htm

www.cs.wustl.edu/~schmidt/C++/

www.intap.net/~drw/cpp/

and you could probably find many many more :)
Reply:Your two previous courses focused on computer programming. C++ is a language. It has a bunch of syntax you learn to use. They also had a mild introduction to computer science. You came across loops, flow control, and your basic large contiguous container (arrays).

Computer science concepts aren't tied down to a language. Loops for example, aren't something specific to C++. Because it is such a fundamental construct, every real (Turing complete) language implements it in some manner. C++ has while and for loops. Python, for example has no direct equivalent to C++'s for loop. But it has a foreach loop, that allows iteration over a sequence. The same computer science concept is expressed differently in Python. But it is the same, language independent concept.

Data structures and algorithms will be your first real computer science course. Yes, C++ may be used. Or maybe another C like language. But you won't be focusing on C++. You'll be focusing on CS concepts. DS%26amp;A also happens to be a fundamental course, and a foundation course. You can simplistically describe an approach to CS problems as: figure out data structures needed, and then the algorithms to operate on those data structures. You cannot proceed without going through DS%26amp;A.

Your past two courses focused on getting C++ syntax right. So none of your problem sets/homework assignments really tested your ability to solve arbitrary problems and to be able to visualize an implementation for it. This is a second turning point for most aspiring computer science students. If you don't like programming itself, well that's that. But you also have to be able to visualize a solution to an arbitrary problem. It won't be, okay here's a problem, let's look up a similar problem in the textbook and reuse the code. You're given a number of concepts (data structures and algorithms), and you need to put them together arbitrarily to solve your problem at hand. For some people, this is straightforward, and for some people, it's pretty much impossible. They get the programming syntax. They understand the concept of a certain structure. They just can't put 2 and 2 together.

That's why, you should take this course early on. You'll know for certain if you like computer science. You'll also have the critical foundation necessary for other CS courses.

Because this is primarily a critical thinking course, try to find either classmates who you know for sure are able to handle the concepts easily and breeze through the course, or work with your TAs and professors.

It would be really bad if your C++ is shaky. Or whatever language is used in DS%26amp;A course. If it's C++, get a good C++ book. C++ Primer (4th Edition) by Lippman is golden. Accelerated C++ by Koenig is another quality book, but it's more like a book you learn from than a reference book. There's other advanced C++ books to have, but you don't really need them for the DS%26amp;A course.
Reply:If you're really serious about pursuing computer science, then this class may be the single most important class you ever take. It's applicable to pretty much everything else you will ever study.

Of course, this means that its topics are covered a million times over in a million different places. There is no shortage of books and websites where you'll find all the help you'll ever need. So don't be intimidated. This course is a classic, believe me, and everyone had to get through it. There are plenty of programmers out there willing to patiently answer any questions the unitiated might have.

My advice...be ready to draw alot of pictures. For me, data structures and sorting/seraching are easiest to understand if I can see them. Also, complexity may involve you needing to visualize the steps of an algorithm.

Get ready to have your mind twisted a bit by recursion. In my opinion, that's the toughest thing to understand if you've never encountered it before.

Don't be afraid, be excited. You make it through this and you can move on to the really interesting stuff and all your preperation will finally start paying off.

C.F.
Reply:good luck, you might want to carry a light load that semester.

Analytic solution to a*t^x + b*t^y + c*t^z + d = 0 for t?

Or, is this known to be possible, impossible or unkown? Another form is a*x^t + b*y^t + c*z^t + d = 0, of course for different constants a, b, c, d, x, y, and z. Ultimatelly i'm looking for the solution of a*exp(-t*x) + b*exp(-t*y) + c*exp(-t*z) + d = 0 for t %26gt;= 0, also where a, b.. etc are different constants to the previous formulas, and x, y, z %26gt; 0.

Analytic solution to a*t^x + b*t^y + c*t^z + d = 0 for t?
Note that if x = 5 and y and z are integers between 1 and 4, then if there were a closed form solution for the t^x case, you'd have a closed form solution for many quintic equations, and no such form is known.

So no guarantees, but I would guess impossible.

HELP anyone doing home leaning course i.t skills m.c.s.d or similar?

my son has been working from home on this course for a year,we just received a letter from someone un named who says it's a scam out of 3000 people doing the course only 4 people have ever passed and we should contact the police coz all the dics have been copied and are not genuine.we have spent a lot of money on this course and it promised gauranteed a pass and help to get a job etc now we think it has all been for nothing and another year wasted,please could anyone let us know if they have heard anything about this or what they think we should do.we think the letter may be from a past employee from the company.

HELP anyone doing home leaning course i.t skills m.c.s.d or similar?
I would suggest contacting Microsoft with your concerns over this letter. It is probably fraudulent but you should talk to them about it in any event. If he is taking the course from a company that is not Microsoft certified to give it, you may have complications. Have all your details on hand such as what company is offering the course, the costs associated and any other pertinent information

What college courses should you take?

My daughter will be a junior next fall and has no idea what she wants to do or be. I've offered all kinds of suggestions, but she is not interested in anything. She's an average student and has to work hard just to get an A or B. Her grades are mostly low B's to C's. If she gets into a college, what courses should she take if she has no idea what she wants to do?

What college courses should you take?
The first two years are mostly general education courses regardless of major. Tell her to take classes in things she is interested in to get a better idea of what the field has to offer. Many students enter college as undeclared majors.

In the meantime, it would be a good idea for her to get involved in extracurricular activities. Often, this is how students find out what they are interested in studying.

If she is musical, join the school choir or band.

If she likes writing, photography or design, she could join the yearbook staff or newspaper staff.

Other ideas: debate team, drama, dance team, student government, and other specific clubs.

Also, during the summertime, she could volunteer to do some community service: girls and boys club, animal shelter, local hospital, museums, etc. Or a summer job may give her some insight.

To top it off, extracurricular activities and community service will help her get into college.
Reply:let her take literarure courses.

Grad school with a C average?

is it possible to get into grad school with a C average? I managed to get a few B's in my major courses but it all averages out to a C average.

Grad school with a C average?
Generally the average is less important than the demonstrated ability to do well in something, anything. If you have a C average because you got a bunch of A+ grades in subjects you were crazy about and F's in courses you didn't care for, you might have a fighting chance. If you never did better than B, it doesn't look good, because you've shown no ability to do well in anything at all.

Unless you did something extracurricular amazingly well, like a stellar athletic career or something like that. It doesn't say much about your academic ability, but at least it demonstrates that you have a strong work ethic, and that you have some personal strengths.

Keep in mind, too, that a lot of second- and third-rate universities don't have the ressources to pore over all their applications with a fine-tooth comb to locate the few exceptional individuals who have low averages but have something special to contribute to their programs. Only top-ranked universities can afford to do this.

In order to thin the pile of applications without too much effort, most schools have strict cut-off points for applicants' GPAs. Applications that don't meet their most basic entrance criteria are simply not considered. So, before you waste too much time and money on your applications, find out what those numbers are from the schools you are considering. Most schools are very forthcoming with this information.
Reply:It depends on the discipline and individual departments and schools.

I will tell you in most cases, selection committees or individual teachers are not looking for individuals who just have super grades. They look at other things -- recommendations, work ethic, willingness to learn, etc.

And by the way, students who received average grades in their undergrad years often are stellar grad students. I think this is largely because they are concentrating (overall) on one study area, and that is usually an area they like and are attracted to -- they seem to have found their place in the university.
Reply:Sure it's possible, but there are many things you must take into account.

Aside from gpa, graduate schools also look at the difficulty of your course work, extra-curricular activities, scores on the GRE and/or other standardized exams, work experience, etc.

Be honest with yourself- would you do well at graduate school? What are you hoping to get out of it? These questions are mostly what the Graduate schools will be concerned with when reviewing your application.
Reply:You might find acceptance somewhere, if you do extremely well on the GRE(graduate exam). You have to understand that in graduate school you have to get A's and B's. A single C will get you put on probation, and 2 will get you automatically kicked out of the program. You need to evaluate your studying abilities before you embark on this.
Reply:It depends on the program and the schools. Sometimes you can petition if you do well on the required tests, have a lot of experience, etc.

It really depends on the school though.
Reply:It is definitely possible, but obviously you will not get into a top program. This may not matter much in the long run, as long as you do well. More importantly, you have some serious self-evaluation to do. Why would you succeed in a graduate program when you barely passed undergrad? What are you going to do differently this time around? If you try hard enough, you will definitely get into a program somewhere. Just make sure you make the experience worthwhile, C's in grad school will get you no where. Good luck!
Reply:Not a chance. I graduated with a GPA of 3.6 with dual degrees and I scraped in. My GREs were top 8% too.

C doesn't cut it. Sorry.
Reply:Depends on where you intend on attending grad school, as well as other things, such as your GMAT score, work experience, and interview(s).
Reply:chances are slim but i'm sure you can find someplace...depends on ur field also
Reply:why the hell do you want to go to grad school for pulling b's at best. If I were you I'd become a plumber or something

How can I get the cost to play golf on public courses?
Look up the course name on the internet and then see if they have prices on the course website, or just call the proshop and ask. They're happy to tell you over the phone, and you can ask if they have discounted rates ever.
Reply:Search for golf courses in N and S Carloina on Google then go to each courses' website.

For a .net course , is it a requirement to know c# or visual basic ???

i have done only c and c++ and want to know is if it is required

For a .net course , is it a requirement to know c# or visual basic ???
no lol

c++ will help but a .net course the idea is u learn c# or vb.net or c++ .net u dont need to know it before you go on a course how can u learn c# with out going on a .net course it a .net only language lol

c++ will help a lot tho since u know class struture how do string and ints and so on so it very simluar to its little brother c#

in fact c# and c++ are very simular at same time are diffrences in the framwork or libaries .net is more like java in sense of system.etc

how ever if u know c++ i take it u know the iostream.h and windows.h the only thing u need to learn is how to adjust to a .net framework which shouldnt take u that long

and if u have masterd c++ the c# and vb.net will be as easy as 123 for u

i recomend only doing c# since its very simualr to c++ inded

basic c# app

using System;

namespace ConsoleApplication1

{

class Program

{

static void Main(string[] args)

{

Console.WriteLine("enter number");

int a; string b;

b = Console.ReadLine();

a = Convert.ToInt16(b);

if (a == 1)

{ Console.WriteLine("a = 1"); }

}

}

}

as u can see apart from console.writeline and using system. simular to java insted of #include iostream.h and cin

there in very little difence in way things are int and string and if statments just the framework as in from #include changed to useing and instead of being declared cin its now readline and so on like namespaces and stuff how ever first lesson simple explanation ul be fine
Reply:No you don't need to know either, but it also depends on the level of the .NET course.

If it is introductory then knowledge of C or C++ is enough. If it is an advanced .NET course then you might be expected to know a .NET language such as C#.

Hence the answer is: It depends on the .NET course you plan to attend.

Hope this helps.
Reply:It depends on the level of the course you are going to. If its a course highlighting the differences from VB to .NET then they will assume you have a knowledge of VB.

If its a course to teach you .NET from scratch, then you should be absolutely fine as you are.
Reply:Usually .Net is taught in one language or the other. If you know C++ you should find C# easy. Maybe brush up a little on C# before you start the course.
Reply:yes. u should know c# or vb. for .net. . u have knowledge in c and C++ . so u just learn c# than vb. this is my suggestion.

Is there a natural cure from virus "c" which attack the liver?

If somebody took the full course of medication for Virus"c" and the counting of the virus is seprad more than he starts the medication so what is the soultion for that case?

Is there a natural cure from virus "c" which attack the liver?
Nothing in this question makes sense.

I presume you are referring to hepatitis C from which there is no definitive cure.

Which has more entry level jobs, java developer or c#.net developer?

I'm taking a course right now, which is C#.net. My teacher said that there is a better chance to get an entry level C#.net job than

entry level java job. I really want to learn java though. Please help.

Which has more entry level jobs, java developer or c#.net developer?
You can get a feel of how many entry level jobs are out there through job search sites such as www.indeed.com www.simplyhired.com and www.dice.com

In my opinion, there is an abundant demand for both areas and you shouldn't be concerned with which has more, since all you need to get is one entry level job. Also, C# and Java are very similar from a syntax standpoint, so you should be able to adopt one from the other. Besides, a good developer should be able to adopt and adapt to other/new technologies since technology is always evolving and improving.
Reply:depends upon where you live. And truly speaking, language has no boundaries. Don't go for current trend and do what interests you more. It will help you learn better. Don't assume the any language will have contact career opportunity for ever. By the end of the day you are done with you course, you must not be surprised to see some new language has hold the market that you had never heard about. Learning languages is simply playing with logic, that does not make any difference if you are good in any one of them, I don't think you will have any problem in switcing to other languages.

I would call this like riding new motorbike. It feels strange at the beginning. You might not even be able to start the engine of understand the gear pattern. However, after few rides, you will get home with it.

Hope that makes some sense. If I were you, I would go for Java. Coz' you said you are interested in that, didn't you?
Reply:Currently, I see more Java jobs at entry level then C# since most of those jobs are covered by internal resources.

If someone told you they couldn't make your party b/c they were out of town and then you saw them...?

what would you think? My husband and I were supposed to leave Thursday to go to a family reunion out of town but had to wait until Saturday (family reunion is Sunday) afternoon to leave. Previously, we were invited to a party Saturday night but of course couldn't go b/c we were going out of town. But, of course we were in the mall today, waiting to leave (had to wait for my mom to get off of work b/c she's going with us) and ran into the person having the party and told them we are still leaving this evening (today is Saturday). We just feel bad and hate them to think we lied. Would you think we lied in the first place?

If someone told you they couldn't make your party b/c they were out of town and then you saw them...?
I would have talked to them and explained your change in plans and tell them that's why you couldn't make it. Who wouldn't understand that?
Reply:I think you did fine by telling them that you are still leaving. If it will help ease your conscious, you can call the person and let them know that the situation was on your mind and you didn't want them to think that by seeing you at the mall, you lied to them about your travel plans. Explain that you just wanted to make sure they knew that you really couldn't attend and that there was no bad blood between you all.
Reply:If I were throwing the party and saw a person who said that they would be out of town so they couldn't attend, I'd realize that hey this is before the party and they could be leaving after their mom got off of work. If they're a ture friend, don't worry about it. Good question tough.
Reply:Send them a postcard from where ever you are going. That way, no matter what their initial feelings were, they will be aware that you were telling the truth.
Reply:If you explained your situation, then I think you're fine. It'd be different if you weren't being honest. :)
Reply:I would definitely think that you blew off my party. Next time you see them just tell them that you were supposed to leave on Thursday but your mom couldn't and you didn't want to just show up at their house since you already said you wouldn't be attending.
Reply:Don't worry about it. They shouldn't feel bad if you had told them what happened.
Reply:you had to leave so what you didn't lie you couln't go to the party anyway
Reply:We'll if they thought that then you won't be invited to the next party. I'm sure they had a good time and you guys missed out. After all it was a party.
Reply:don't worry about it...you really are still leaving and it shouldn't be that big of a deal. you should always tell the truth...it's harder to remember lies later. if the person is really upset it's still okay because they will get over it sooner then later! =)

What if i get a C grade in my graduate course...will it affect my future when applying to jobs or internships?

I am going to get a low gpa this semester will this affect my chances of internships

What if i get a C grade in my graduate course...will it affect my future when applying to jobs or internships?
it will be your overall gpa.. not one class. don't worry about it. If it really bugs you - retake the class for a better grade.
Reply:Yes, anything can have an affect on future employment, etc.

However, if it's a single grade, that should not be a problem if all the others are good. Your GPA will be lowered a little but not that much considering the number of courses you have taken.

I was a B student in college, and could never do well on one course (psych), go figure. But I wasn't a psych major and it was taken into account in the interview process. The big thing is to be able to explain why you didn't do well (and I didn't like the teacher is not a good answer, nor is I was drinking too much).

Other than that it's ok to have one clunker.
Reply:Your school may well count a C against you; however, I know of a very talented gal who received a C from a very difficult professor, yet retained a Fulbright to study abroad. In the same field, by the way, in which he assigned her that grade.

In short, grades aren't everything; folks out on the market know that circumstances aren't always fair, and if you have moxie and smarts, you'll still do fine.
Reply:Unfortunately yes. My school puts you on probation and does not even count the class for credit if you get a C. Jobs and internships are very very competitive and people will have all A's and beat you out simply on that. If you get your act together you may have hope of still finding a job, but probably not get initially hired for many jobs. You may have to get years of work experience at other jobs before being hired to the better jobs you were overlooked for in the first place.

Sorry to be the barer or bad news :(
Reply:No if you are very good in other areas in your life :-p
Reply:I think a lot of these answers are thinking of your C in terms of undergrad grading, and a C in undergrad isn't the end of the world. However, anything below a B- in most grad schools isn't credit and if your GPA slips below 3.0 you're in serious trouble. You don't mention how low your GPA is, but did you lose any scholarship or grants? If you feel that some unusual circumstance made you get this C, then retake it. If you have only 1 C on your transcript and you took the class again and got an A, then your excuse will be looked upon favorably. And what is a "low" GPA? that's all relative. I have a 3.78 in grad school and that still isn't good enough for some people. I know several people that have a 3.9-4.0 and would probably commit suicide if they had a 3.78, but I'm ok with it. I say, just retake the class and relax. It was a one-time thing, so if people can't understand that, then screw them. Just apply for a several good internships and one will show you some mercy. Good luck
Reply:It may prevent you getting an internship since you will be competing with other students who will be sure to say how good their GPA is. That may be the little bit extra that gets them the internship.

However, in the real world, I have never included my GPA on a resume, nor was I ever asked in an interview. And now as a manager, I always hate when people put their GPA on their resume because it makes them look inexperienced and like they're padding their record to cover up for a lack of skills.

C++ programming?

I am a complete beginner to programming, but have to learn C++ next year at uni so thought I would give myself a bit of a headstart. The book that the course is based on is "C++ How To Program" by Deitel %26amp; Deitel. Is this a good book for me to start to learn with, someone said somewhere that it contains lots of OOP (whatever that is, and apparently its hard to learn). Could someone enlighten me please.

If you don't think this is a good book, could you please recommend one for me (remember, I am a complete beginner, the only programming I have done is a pit of BASIC for picaxe ICs).

Thanks for your help.

C++ programming?
Almost everyone learns with Deitel; it's very common in entry-level classes.

I don't think it's a very good book, however; it's not what I would call "Plain language."

For all begginers, I recommend the For Dummies series. They have a C++ book with a CD-ROM that includes sample code; you might want to try that if you want a head start. Very plain-language and easy to follow.
Reply:I can't remember who its by but its called "C++: An Introduction to Computing". Very good book.
Reply:I actually used the same book in my C++ class a year ago. I had no problem following the book, but then again, while C++ was rather new to me, I have been a programmer in other languages for over 10 years. Overall, I thought the book was fine. If you need to get the book anyways because of the class, pick it up and start playing with it. There will more than likely be areas where you will need further explaination like polymorphism, operator overloading, etc. Some aspects take a little getting used to.

And OOP means Object Oriented Programming. VB.NET, C#.NET, and Java are all examples of OOP. Programming is based more on the use of objects (and their associated properties, methods, events) than your legacy procedural languages (like COBOL, C, etc).
Reply:OOP stands for object oriented programming. C++ was created by taking C (not an OOP language) and adding object oriented constructs to the language. As its roots are not object-oriented it has a lot of baggage and idiosyncrasies that can make it difficult for beginners.

It has been many years since I learned C and C++ and I am unfamiliar with the book that you mention. I will recommend a companion book that will help you out tremendously with the "gotcha's" in the language -- Scott Meyer's "Effective C++". Also, Bruce Eckel's "Thinking in C++" is good and is available for free access online.

Best wishes for a successful time at the university!
Reply:never used that book before (I'm a VB-6 programmer), but there's a great site full of source code: Planet Source Code...http://www.pscode.com
Reply:I would reccommend "Sams Teach Yourself C++ in 24 Hours" for a good start. I used it, and it lays down a great foundation. It will teach you all the basics, from your very first program to advanced concepts like object-orientation and polymorphism.

I also use "C/C++ Programmer's Reference". It's great if you forget the syntax and need a quick refresher.
Reply:What really helped me understand OOP was a section from Windows 95 Programming for Dummies, which apparently is included in C++ for Dummies.

It's the description of "object oriented nachos", and it's one of those things that I read and didn't get. Then, as I lied in bed starting at the ceiling, it hit me.

There's a lot more to OOP than what's in this sample chapter, of course. But those things become a lot easier when you have a solid grasp of the basic concept.
Reply:I would reccommend the website

This website has a very nice tutorial and is useful for people without any or with little programming knowledge.

I recently attended a C&G Computer Aided Design course (level 2) which I will (hopefully) be continuing....?

....soon! I have been advised in the meantime to try and find work in a company that uses CAD regularly, such as engineering companies, design, architects etc. entering in an admin role (which I do now) as a "foot in the door" so to speak. I will be relocating to Liverpool in 6 weeks and take it as prime opportunity to try and find a job in such a company but I don't know who they are or where they might be! Can anyone offer any assistance or advice? Ta x

I recently attended a C%26amp;G Computer Aided Design course (level 2) which I will (hopefully) be continuing....?
I work in a Structural Engineers, use CAD everyday and i dont have any C%26amp;G qualifications in CAD. What employers prefer is for you to have a strong knowledge of what your drawing. It costs too much time and money to have an Engineer draw out exactly what he wants so you can trace it. They prefer just to be able to hand you their calcs and you turn them into a working drawing. Also if you know what your drawing your more likely to pick up their mistakes.

There are alot of areas in the construction industry that use CAD: Civil/ Structural Engineering, Architects, Mechanical %26amp; Electrical engineers the list goes on and on.

My advice would be to research what area you'd like to work in and then try and find a firm thats willing to send you to college on day release, i dont know how old you are but these jobs tend to go to school leavers. Thats how i got started. Or a small company may take you on.

There is a big shortage of CAD technicians in the industry because truthfully it is quite boring really! but the salary is good and if you've got the right skills you soon become a big asset to your company.

I need C++ Help?

OK, so i wanted to write C++ on OSX. Someone told me to install Xcode, so I did. I opened it up, opened up a new C++ file, and typed a simple program from a tutorial. However, I can't compile it! The menu option for compile is grayed out (in fact all of the build tools are). Why can't I compile it?

Sorry, I have never programmed before (i have only done web design and XML; and a one-week crash course in computer class on C programming). In computer class we had a program (Borlan C or something) where we typed in our code, pressed compile, and ran the programs. That is the extent of my knowledge. Why won't Xcode let me do that, and how do I get it to let me?!?

Thanks.

I need C++ Help?
you get it from the second disk in an os x package or it's on the BIG dvd as an extra install!

if you don't mind downloading extra stuff, you can get your c compiler here

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/de...
Reply:I guess you didn't install a compiler like gcc for example. Xcode doesn't come with a prebuilt compiler so you must install it afterwards.

Gcc is included with Xcode Tools so installing this should fix it.

Reply:"However, I can't compile it! The menu option for compile is grayed out (in fact all of the build tools are). Why can't I compile it?"

Probably because you didn't install the build tools. Xcode is just an IDE. That is, a nice environment for you type code and have it compiled for you. The actual compilation is done by the compiler.

I don't use Macs, but IIRC you should have a CD or set of CDs from Apple with developer tools on them. Install whatever is relevant to C++. It should be Gcc, gdb, the C++ libraries, etc.

"n computer class we had a program (Borlan C or something) where we typed in our code, pressed compile, and ran the programs. "

Yeah, basically they taught you nothing about C++.

What is BCA,C,C++? can a commerce student do this course ?

i am a commerce student and my combination is ABES i.e` Accounts,Business studies,Economics and Statistics... can i do BCA,C and C++...please help me for the same.

What is BCA,C,C++? can a commerce student do this course ?
Yes. Its not that hard. Its more on logic.

- C is a general-purpose, block structured, procedural, imperative computer programming language developed in 1972 by Dennis Ritchie at the Bell Telephone Laboratories for use with the Unix operating system. It has since spread to many other platforms. Although C was designed as a system implementation language, it is also widely used for applications. C has also greatly influenced many other popular languages,especially C++, which was originally designed as an extension to C.

- C++ is a general-purpose programming language with high-level and low-level capabilities. It is a statically typed, free-form, multi-paradigm, usually compiled language supporting procedural programming, data abstraction, object-oriented programming, and generic programming.

C++ is regarded as a mid-level language. This indicates that C++ comprises a combination of both high-level and low-level language features

Good websites for helping choose universities and courses?

My daughter, currently in the 6th form is at the stage when she is looking into what university course to choose. I would like to point her in the direction of websites which a) tell her which courses she can do given the A levels she has chosen b) tell which universities offer which courses with an outline of the syllabus c) tell her what sort of grades she needs for these courses. Any help greatly appreciated.

Good websites for helping choose universities and courses?
You will not find good websites, or even any websites, that specifically help you make the decision as to which universities and courses your daughter should choose. This is the internet and there is a lot of crappy websites.

1. There is no substitute for doing your own authoritative

research.

That should be done by selectively and speculative picking institutions and requesting their prospectuses. Read them.

You may pick up ideas for other subjects, so you go further and request prospectuses for specific subjects.

You may pick up ideas to study at another institution, so you go further and request prospectuses for that institution.

2. You should first of all consult: www.ucas.com. Click on http://www.ucas.com/search/index08.html. Do a course search - a speculative search. Search a course you are interested in: e.g. "Marine Biology". Alternatively, click on search a subject and then choose one. Then click on the institutions listed as offering the course, and read their websites.

You can do this "browsing" process by looking at the official UCAS Directory available at your school, on the internet, and at the local library.

You should just browse. Its just like ordering a gift from a catalogue.

(a) You ask for courses she can do given the A levels she has chosen. Thats somewhat the wrong way round. The A levels are there to facilitate being able to do any course at degree level. The question is this: how has doing an A level in sociology, say, contributed to the decision to do a course at degree level? What skills have you learnt? What is it about sociology that interests you to study another degree subject?

So for e.g. if your daughter wants to do a history or economics degree, its recommended you study A level history of course or economics, but its fine if she studied Chemistry, or Biology. The question is, what has persuaded you, having done these subjects, that you are interested in and can commit to three years in History or Economics?

This question (a) is really a question to be asking the university. They will tell you what they need or recommend to study when they give you their prospectus. You just need to start requesting prospectuses and have a look at them. No one is going to do the work for you - no website can do it - and courses and course content change all the time.

(b) You should really start looking at the university prospectuses. I can't tell you "which universities offer which courses with an outline of the syllabus". You have to read the wonderful prospectuses the universities provide. They go into great simple detail about the syllabus.

(c) Again, you should consult the prospectus to find out what grade.

And if you are really stuck, have a start with this link:

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/EducationAnd...

The Government website may help you, but it looks very tedious and really wastes time. You need to get into the university prospectuses.
Reply:www.ucas.ac.uk/
Reply:a) A-levels are just a standard of education they want you to reach, the want specific grades at A-level very rarely specific subjects. Occasionally specific requirements will be required for such courses as Medicine or Mathematics; but to be studying these courses its liekly you will already be doing these A-levels - due to a high itnerest in the subject. For most subjects tehre are no speciifc requirements, i.e. law you do not have to have A-level (or GCSE) Law. The grades and numbers are whats important, usually 3 minimum with the specified grades; so your point A shouldn't really be a concern, unless as said shes after a very specialist degree in which case hopefully she would have been preparing for this for a while.

If she really has no idea what she wants to do then she could click on the 'subject search' tab and scroll through, it alpahbetically list every available subject area so see if something jumps out. Or look for something she enjoys studying currently and work from there, I started looking for Maths (for no other reason than I was good at it and could think of nothing else); then moved to maths with economics; then when looking more into economics decided to do economics with maths; then decided on straight economics; but it was good to have a starting point and I was able to look through related courses.

As for websites:

http://www.ucas.ac.uk/search to look for what courses are available, courses are searched for by subjects and results listed by institution. Clicking on one of the results will bring up entry requirements, some give a breif course description, but for an in depth course description with list of modules etc. then you'll have to visit the institutions own website

http://www.tqi.ac.uk allows courses and insitutions (as found from UCAS) to be selected and then results from the national students survey is displayed, as well as statistics such as what the actual qualifications of students on the course is - this is useful for allowing to see if most have more or less than the published requirements - though it uses the UCAS tariff, different to many institutions themselve. Basicly a good sight full of feedback and statistics.

Also useful to look at when narrowing to the final 5 is the Guardian and Times league tables (below). Using these tables you can directly compare how each institution performs for a specific course, using these and the information from the TQi site allows a good idea of how good the course is to be built up.
Reply:The first thing that comes to my mind is collegeboard.com; I am not sure if you are already familiar with the site.
Reply:http://www.clearingvacancies.co.uk/?gcli...
Reply:there are websites helping for choosing universities and courses but i wouldn't recommend it because above all of this. the decision will be between you and your daughter.

Software Training & Courses?

This is my first year for BSC.IT, from (Karrox Technologies, Mumbai) affiliated from Sikkim Manipal University, 1st semester course content i.e. Data Structure Using C, SQL Server Concept %26amp; DBMS, VB, Linux etc. But I want to boost my talent with some other courses in Software Industry.

Could any one suggest me, Should I go for Java certifications i.e SCJA, SCJP or DBA Oracle, MCPD, MCAD %26amp; MCDBA etc.

Thank in advance

Software Training %26amp; Courses?
It depends on what you wish to specialize in. If you are going to be a database expert, I would suggest both Oracle and MCDBA as they seem to be the two largest commercial software packages that are being outsourced.

If you wish to be an application developer, then Courses in Java or .NET would be advisable. You should understand, most companies usually choose a major development platform, and currently the two big camps are either Microsoft with .NET or IBM/Sun with Java.

I wouldn't try to learn them all together but would choose to specialize. Choose either the Microsoft world or the Oracle/Sun world for now.

I would also recommend you look into the current job opportunities in major cities where you live. I would try to learn skills that would help you find a good job in those cities. Hope this helps.

Which is the best university to do a correspondence course in B.s.c IT or BCA..?

Hi,

To do B.SC IT you can just lodge in any one of the State Owned Universities. Because of their quality of coaching. To do BCA you can join any private institutions which are popular and even reasonable.

hi,

i feel FOR BCA U CAN GO FOR ICFAI.

What qualifications do I need to start working as a C++ programmer?

Is there a course in the UK that only teaches C++, if not is there at least one that only teaches programming languages?

Ok, basically what I'm trying to find out is: what qualifications do I need to start working as a C++ programmer? I’ve browsed the Internet looking for job descriptions, but all I’ve found is that companies only look for "experienced C++ programmer" (which makes me think, how did these guys start?) and "qualifications in software engineering" (could it be more vague?) are a must. I then tried to find appropriate courses, but the ones I find are either unreliable (I'm looking for a recognized qualification) or they are too broad (e.g. "Computer Science" courses).

I am currently studying Business Management (at a degree level) and I will hopefully graduate in 2009. I haven’t done any studies in computing, I just learn C++ at home (with Sams Teach Yourself).

What qualifications do I need to start working as a C++ programmer?
either study on your own or go to Computer Science.(just take some lessons in it, you don't have to take the entire course)

it may cover lots of topics but knowing C++ is not enough to get a job as a C++ programmer.

firstly because you can't code a big project all on your own. you will only be given smaller parts to work own because of the object-oriented approach. (you may need to take some software engineering lessons)

second because if you only know C++ you will only be concerned about coding in C++. there are lots of powerful languages out there. and since you only have background on the software part, you will have no idea on how it is actually implemented in the hardware. you will not know how the codes you write is implemented (you may not care about this but knowing how it works will give you an edge over others because you can manipulate the hardware.)
Reply:a smart person once said: specification is for insects.

nowadays computer systems are complex; often, parts are executed on a server, others on a client. there are different operating systems and environments involved. C++ is not used very often, it's a niche language, like C. so don't forget to get experience about other languages and operating systems. Also, try to write programs which you then can show off when trying to get a job. this will not only give you experience, it will also show that you're willing to invest time and effort and don't give up when you have to deal with obstacles.
