Is getting a C in your college major class bad?

I have a computer science major and I got a C in one of my courses. I've passed the class, but was wondering is getting a C in one your major classes bad?

Is getting a C in your college major class bad?
yea... make up for it. At least it's not a d...
Reply:No, don't stress it. You'll likely get worse as you get deeper in your major. My college will not allow you to take a class over unless you make a D or worse.
Reply:not really but I think it is...a C is about a 70
Reply:It shouldn't be. as long as you keep trying. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:That's pretty bad , but it's passing, and that's all that matters to get your degree. Just hope that your college doesn't have certain requirements about getting a B in classes required for your major.
Reply:Pretty bad! But, don't despair....just work harder on the other major classes and start raking in a lot of As (and occasional Bs). Eventually the law of averages will obscure that one bad grade. Good luck!
Reply:It really depends on if you are an over-achiever or not. Some people feel they cannot go on living if they have anything less than an A+. Others, know that no one is going to ask you your GPA on a job interview and as long as you know your stuff, that's what counts.

I happen to have been afflicted with the "over-achiever" problem. However, Nursing school is showing me the error of my ways.

I say, if you passed it and you truly knew what you were supposed to learn, WAY TO GO. Don't let it get you down.
Reply:Getting a C in one, or even two of your major classes is not the end of the world, but any more than that, and you might want to reconsider your major.

Most likely you got a C not because the course was too hard for you, but because your strategy for learning the material was bad. Try changing how you prepare for taking a test, join a study group, work more problems, maybe even get a tutor.

Good Luck.
